The country formerly known as FYROM - what name would you prefer that they use? Republic of Macedonia?

I agree with IPH. Well said. Vardaska was their original name, Tito was the one who changed it to "Macedonia" because he had a Big Idea to expand his land up to Aegean Sea. Vardaska Banovina is the most correct name as the population there has nothing to do with Ancient Macedonians. They are a mix of slavs, bulgarians and albanians, who speak a slavic language and came in the region in the 6th century.
