Why have people become so paralyzed by political correctness?

Because it's all about control. What better way to shut people up then to accuse them of being anti-this, anti-that and also racists? How many times have you had to defend your views because some control freak falsely called or referred to you as something that you're not? That's the liberal way of controlling the populace.
