Portuguese Water Dogs?

Hello! I have a Portuguese Water Dog, and she is about 7 years old. I've heard that the breed has a degenerative eye disease, causing blindness. Over the past few years, my dog's eyesight has gotten worse and is nearly blind. Has anyone experienced this same problem with their own Portuguese Water Dog? Thanks in advance for the help! : )
